Thunar
The file manager for the Xfce desktop.
Thunar is the file manager that ships as part of Xfce. Its defining qualities are speed and a small memory footprint — Thunar opens almost instantly even on older hardware — combined with a feature set that covers most everyday file-manager needs: custom actions, bulk rename, tabbed views, drag-and-drop, trash integration, and a plugin system for archive support and other extensions.
Benedikt Meurer started Thunar in 2004 as a replacement for the older Xffm file manager that was bundled with Xfce 4.0. Thunar shares a codebase across Xfce releases and has co-evolved with the rest of the desktop environment since.
Thunar is the file manager on Xfce-based distributions (Xubuntu, Manjaro Xfce, Linux Mint Xfce) and is also a popular choice on lightweight setups (LXQt, i3 with X11) where users want a graphical file manager without GTK 4 or Qt 5 baggage.
