Tails ("The Amnesic Incognito Live System") is a Debian-based live Linux distribution that boots from a USB stick, routes all network traffic through Tor, and leaves no trace on the host machine after shutdown by default. It is designed for journalists, activists, and anyone needing to use an untrusted computer without leaving forensic traces.

Tails is endorsed by the Tor Project and the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
